Hemispheres is a free after school program that invites high school students to learn about international relations, travel to places like Washington, D.C. and Budapest and compete in Model United Nations tournaments.  It meets after school on Fridays, from 3:30 to 5 PM on Yale's campus. Classes each week begin with a news update, after which there is a short break for pizza. Then, students can choose a class to attend from three options. Past class topics have included nontraditional diplomacy, the Syrian refugee crisis, and global financial institutions. After class, we invite students to stay for an additional thirty minutes to enjoy treats like froyo, cookies and ice cream and hang out with Hemispheres teachers.

Our Mission:

To provide local public high school students with equitable access to an international affairs education that fosters a love of learning, professional skill development, and opportunities to that vitalize that class material through travel, and to empower informed global citizens within a community of friends and mentors from Yale and New Haven County
